What was supposed to be a simple first date in June of 2022 quickly turned into an unforgettable evening — five stops, endless conversation, and the feeling that something special had just begun. By the very next day, William was inviting Kiera over for homemade tacos, and from that point on, the two have been completely smitten. Their adventures together began close to home and soon stretched far beyond it. Their first trip as a couple took them to Atlanta, where the highlight was exploring the Georgia Aquarium hand in hand. Since then, they’ve visited six countries together, shared countless meals, and created a life filled with laughter and love. In October of 2024, after a river cruise with his family, Kiera said “Yes!” to William’s proposal in a quiet corner of the Boboli Gardens in Florence — after an endearingly unsuccessful attempt the day before when William discovered after arriving that the gardens were closed on Mondays. It was perfectly imperfect, just like the two of them. A few weeks later, they packed up everything they owned and moved into their cozy townhouse in Raleigh, North Carolina, where they’ve continued to build their life together. Today, they continue to explore side by side — from discovering new restaurants and wineries in town, baking and cooking new recipes at home, and trying new experiences on the weekends— always grateful for the adventure that began with one incredible first date.
