Marquis and Kiera’s love story started the good old fashion way, on a dating app. Both dating profiles spoke of their love for Jesus. That was and still is the most attractive quality about one another. After one phone call, Kiera knew that this man was different and Marquis proved it by showing her his heart and never relenting in his pursuit of hers. They talked and laughed and shared and grew closer as each day passed. Kiera was living in Atlanta at the time and Marquis in Detroit. After 8 months of daily phone calls and occasional visits, Kiera packed up her life in Atlanta and moved to Michigan, 13 minutes away from Marquis. On June 9th 2024, just 3 short months after the big move, Marquis surprised Kiera with a Sunday date to the Ford House. In the center of the botanical gardens, he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. With complete confidence that Marquis was a sweet gift to her from the Lord Himself, she said, “Absolutely.”
