Our story began like typical millennials, ONLINE haha! After we exchanged numbers and had a few text/phone conversations for a couple of months, I moved back to the East Coast and my first priority was to take Kiera out. Not only did I want to see her, but I also wanted to know if Kiera's energy was the same in-person as it was on the phone. It was! We walked, talked and listened to music for hours. I knew from that moment that this genuine connection we shared was rare. After some time had passed and we felt more comfortable with one another, we decided to take our first trip to Washington DC and it was unforgettable! That will always be my favorite trip because it was in DC that I mustered up the courage and asked Kiera to be my girlfriend. Best decision of my life! -Margo Newkirk
On our fourth anniversary, we took a trip to Cabo, and it was Margo's first time visiting Mexico, so I knew that I wanted to make it special. I had been planning to propose for months, even getting my coworkers and friends at work involved haha! We chartered a private yacht with our own personal chef, photographer, captain, and crew and sailed the day away on the beautiful ocean. We were sitting on the top of the yacht and we were approaching a famous landmark in Cabo, El Arco de Cabo San Lucas which is where the San Lucas bay meets the Pacific Ocean. On cue, the yacht slowed to a stop, and my phone played one of our favorite songs, I Want You Around by Snoh Aalegra and at that moment, I professed my love to my soulmate and asked Margo would she do me the honor of being my wife. Through both of our tears, SHE SAID YES! -Kiera Gardner We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you. See you in Raleigh!
