Elkin, North Carolina is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and is near the famous town of Mount Airy (home to the Andy Griffith show) and only 20 minutes away from the most beautiful drive on the east coast, the Blue Ridge Parkway. Lots of hiking opportunities nearby with Stone Mountain state park being a great option.
