Our favorite hiking in San Diego! Uber there or park along the beach- the walk takes you up along the main road onto beautiful cliffs overlooking the ocean. You'll end up on the beach headed back to the parking area.
The best zoo in the US we've been to! It's massive, so be prepared for a lot of walking.
Right outside the zoo and beautiful to stroll around in if you have time before or after your visit.
A beautiful spot to catch the sunset and enjoy the ocean views.
Coronado is a separate island off the coast of San Diego and 100% worth the drive. It has tons of cute, beachy boutiques, great lobster rolls and ice cream, and is the perfect spot to rent bikes and look at the historic homes.
Lots of beautiful parkland to explore, including the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, which overlooks the ocean.
Tons of spots here for great food- and the home of one of San Diego's Salt & Straw ice cream shops, an essential part of any trip.
The spot to snorkel (and surf) in San Diego. We've seen tons of cool marine life along the shore, from rays to leopard sharks, as well as seals along the cove. If you'd rather stay above the water, there are lots of kayaking companies in this area as well.
Lots of great Mexican restaurants, live music, and history here. Old Town is known as “birthplace of California” and was actually the first Spanish settlement on the West Coast.
