How We Met

June 21st 2019

Auna: Kiel had come across my tinder matches (Im not even sure how he came across as I was still living in Hastings at the time and he was all the way in Minnetonka) and he had listed that he was a dog trainer and obviously super cute. so I super-liked his profile only for us to match right away. Our first date was at Obb's Sports Bar and Gril in St. Paul. Conversation was good but I loved that he had his own house and seemed so put together for his age- but he ended the date with a one armed hug so I figured he was not interested and I kind of lost interest but a month later, I hit him up and we went on our second date. He showed up to the second date on his motorcycle and that was it. It was love ever since. 6 months later, moved in together to our house in Isanti. Kiel's version: We found each other on Tinder, and I swiped right on her because she was this cute girl with tattoos who worked with animals. We chatted for a while, I think, like a week or two before I asked her out. I remember being slightly frustrated trying to figure out where the hell we were going to go on a date. She kept changing the town she wanted to meet in. We had plans for one place on a certain night, and she changed them to a different place a different night. We finally met at a dive bar in St. Paul. I remember thinking she was absolutely gorgeous and her tattoos were hot as fuck. I thought the date went pretty well, I didn't think I was awkward at all. We ate dinner, burgers, and talked for a couple of hours. There was no second date, and I didn't hear from her again. Until a month later, when I was sitting at my very first disc competition and I got a text from her that said, "Hey, what's up??" We went on our second date a week later.

Proposal Story

8.3.24

We were in Mason Michigan as Updog X (10 year anniversy of Updog disc) for a big camping competition. The last day of the event, Kiel was signed up to do Freestyle with the labs. In my typical fashion before we goes onto the field, I always check his pockets to make sure hes not gonna lose keys or his phone or something while running around. Before he went onto the field with Genesis, he wanted me to sit in a specific spot- me thinking it was to get good video for our business page and I already had his phone in my hand so he said he was good and nothing else in his pockets. When the music started playing - Unity by Shinedown- it caught me off guard as that was not the song on the running order and typically I choose Shinedown songs. He seemed more nervous than usual and not as fluid but I thought it was because some of the top Updog players and judges were watching and judgin him. Genesis was having a great time and she also had no idea what was planned. It look me a few seconds to realize what I was reading when he got down on one knee and flashed the disc that said "Marry Me?" The organizers of the event knew and tried to get as many people to the field to watch as well as record my reaction since Kiel got me to record the proposal from MY POINT OF VIEW. The event photographers were also able to snag some amazing photos that were not planned.
