If you're going to fly in and rent a car. The easier route is going to be taking I-25. The scenic route is called 285 which is highly recommended if you feel safe traveling Colorado mountain passes! If you're not confident with the driving or just want to fly closer Alamosa has an airport that averages about $270 round trip.

DIA is the easiest airport to fly into. It is roughly 3.5-4 hours away.

COS is a bit closer still about 3-3.5 hours north, but usually runs more expensive than flying into DIA.
