David and I met through snapchat (don't judge), I saw him as a new friend suggestion and just thought why not. I added David as a friend and almost immediately he messaged me and asked if I knew him. So I answered and told him that he just popped up on my "quick add" so I added him. We figured out we had a few mutual friends and it turned into a long conversation. Before long he was giving me his number so we could "stay in touch". I did what any girl would and saved it but gave him my number so he could continue this if he was serious. I received a text shortly after. We continued to get to know one another and at this point it was almost March. I let him know I would be in Georgia at my sisters for my Spring Break since I lived in Virginia at this time. He was excited to say the least, and so was I. He planned to come see me one night.. and I would say the rest is history. David pursued me even though we knew it would be long distance since I was in nursing school in Virginia and it would be another 2 years before I was finished., now here we are. :) I couldn't be more happy with life as I work my dream job, preparing to marry the man I have always hoped and prayed for.
We have almost been together a year at this point, and our anniversary falls during my Spring Break so we planned a trip. I told him the beach or somewhere we both loved but hadn't been together. He has some family in Destin, FL and they were happy to have us visit. So, what I thought was an anniversary/spring break trip turns into an engagement celebration. He planned for us to be in Destin in time to take sunset pictures on the beach the first night (why nothing dawned on me then IDK). We made it to Destin in time for pictures but we decided on pictures on the bay before dinner because the sun was setting fast. I went to put my arm around David and he wasn't there. I turned around and he was down on one knee with a ring in a box in his hand. I cannot honestly tell you what he said to me, all I heard was "Will You Marry Me?" and I couldn't say yes fast enough. His mom was there with my parents on FaceTime. It was perfect in every way and I was completely surprised! We went to dinner and got to celebrate us in the best way!
