We met in Los Angeles, CA in 2013. We both were working as administrators at UCLA. Our good friend, and one of our wedding hosts, Tracy Garcia, introduced us. On our first date we both wore the color blue, matching without planning it. We bonded over our love of flowers, traveling and a deep and divine spiritual connection. We spent our time in nature, moon watching, streaming our favorite tv shows and sun bathing in Malibu. Evolve introduced Kiara to all their favorite LA restaurants including El Cholo, My Two Cents, Ricks Fish Market and Capitol Burger. Soon after making their relationship status "official" on May 11th, 2015, Kiara was offered a full-time job in Berkeley, CA (nearly 7 hours away). Kiara moved to the Bay Area and the couple missed each other very much. An LA native, Evolve wasn't very excited about leaving home but told Kiara they would apply for jobs in the Bay Area, and if the universe called they would come. A week after applying to jobs, Evolve got three different job interview opportunities and before they knew it Evolve moved with Kiara to Oakland, CA. When Evolve arrived in Oakland, Kiara had a medical emergency and had to have emergency surgery just a day before their arrival. Evolve jumped right in to take care of Kiara and it was solidified for Kiara that she could trust Evolve with her life, literally.
According to Evolve, "I knew Kiara was the one when we said "I love you" after two weeks of dating, at one of my favorite places in Los Angeles, the Rose Garden." After over six months of planning, on Saturday, January 12th, 2019, Evolve invited their sibling Lyric over to decorate their house so that they could ask Kiara Lee to be their life partner. Lyric and Evolve beautifully decorated the apartment with roses, candles, Kiara's favorite candies and displayed Kiara's engagement ring in amethyst crystal geode box. The two were then served a private gourmet dinner by the amazing Chef Christina Alexis of The Pleasure Principle™ Supper Club & Dining Events.
Our original wedding date was November 1, 2020. Unfortunately due to the Covid- 19 pandemic, we were unable to have our large celebration. However, we were still determined to make our day special. On November 1, 2020, we drove to beautiful cliff in the Oakland Hills and shared spiritual vows with each other, committing to a lifetime together, divinely guided by God and our ancestors.
