Alex and Kiara met each other through their young adults group at their church, Harvest Orange County. They became friends and continued to get to know each other through the rest of that year. As their friendship grew, so did their feelings for each other. After praying and spending more time with her, Alex soon realized that she was the girl that he wanted to be with and decided to pursue her. Alex shared his feelings with Kiara, and they both decided to begin their courtship and went on their first date. Weeks later on June 19th, 2019, they went on a date to Disneyland, On that night, during the firework show, Alex asked Kiara to be his girlfriend. She said yes!

During the next few months of their relationship, Alex became certain that Kiara was the girl he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. After asking Kiara's parents for her hand in marriage, he began to plan how he wanted to propose to her. With the help of her sisters along with his own family; Alex came up with the plan to surprise her at Disneyland, their favorite place.
