You know how every couple has a cute little origin story? Ours started with yelling at a TV. Not even a romantic comedy. A 49ers playoff game. We met by chance; exchanged looks while Kiana went to grab beer for her group, and something just clicked. We had three "real" dates. Our first date was supposed to be a rooftop bar. The day-of, Kiana called Tim and said, "I've got Warriors tickets. Let's do that instead?" Second date: Comedy show and dinner. Finally, a fun night at Nightlife at The Academy of Sciences. And then... the world shut down. What could've been a fleeting connection turned into an unexpected, beautiful foundation. As 2020 got more real, it brought hard conversations to the surface - about politics, race, privilege, social justice. And we didn’t shy away. We listened, debated, and asked hard questions. We held space for truth and growth. And little by little, we built something stronger: a relationship rooted in curiosity, empathy, and respect. Fast forward: Tim helped Kiana move not once, not twice, but THREE times during the pandemic (a man committed to love and heavy lifting). Two years in, we officially merged lives, and not long after, we welcomed the third member of our little family - Hankphernius, the Earl of Chonkenshire (Hank). Over the years we adventured our way through the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Sun River, New York, Mexico, Rome, Venice, Florence, Athens, Santorini, Kyoto, Mount Fuji, Osaka, Tokyo, and Hawaii. We're looking forward to more ;) In July 2024 we bought our first home together in The Sunset, SF, during one of the hottest summers in the Bay on record (promptly followed by the coldest summer on record for the last ~30 years...) The fog is real and it suits Tim's complexion quite well, so we love it. We take daily walks with Hank to the beach, hit the gym together, have casual date nights at The Woods and Round1, and frequent Alamo Drafthouse anytime a new Marvel, DC, or scary movie hits the theaters. And then, in true us fashion, we eloped in December 2024 at the ultra-glamorous (and deeply romantic) "SF Same Day Marriage." No frills, just us, some paperwork, and a whole lot of love. We had to ask the security at the building to be our witness! Tim, being the thoughtful guy he is, planned a belated proposal in Hawaii in 2025 - because we do things out of order but never without heart. This October, we're finally throwing the party our love story deserves. A little glitz, a lot of fun, and all the people who've cheered us on from the start. It's not a wedding - it's our celebration of everything we've grown through, chosen, and created together. It's the happily-ever-after party. And we can't wait to celebrate it with you!
