Her Story: I first saw Donovan at THE Grambling State University. However, I am not the one to make the first move. I would steal looks at him in the intramural but he never approached . . . so I let it go. 3 years later scrolling through instagram THERE HE IS ! in my new followers section. He played it "cool" until I made a post implying that I had no Valentine's Day plans, at least not any I wanted to partake in. Well that must've been his cue because in the messages he slid, full of confidence, proclaiming that he would drive from Arkansas to take me out on date. Now I have to admit . . . I thought he was lying, because honestly, he didn't even know me. Y'all, not only did he come but unlike most men he had zero complaints about meeting my parents before hand, my parents are very traditional. When I laid eyes on her it was always from afar and I would never make a move. Honestly I wasn’t ready yet, but 3 years later she came across my Instagram, “OH LOOK AT GOD”. She posted about not having Valentines Day plans and oh yes I slide in the DMs knowing that I wasn’t letting her out of my sight this time. I made plans knowing this was a done deal even though I was in Arkansas. I drove down Friday night, I was told that I had to meet her parents, of course didn’t mind. Look we have been side by side since February 14, 2015 and now it’s Forever❤️

Family is something that is dear to our heart. So I wanted to make sure that the best day of her life was in front of the people that we both love. That being said, I gathered both families at her grandmother’s house for Thanksgiving! We walked in the door and “Wow” everyone is there and my 3 nephews each gave her a rose. I expressed my love to her and why I was making the best decision of my life, I gave the last rose and proceed to get down on one knee. She said “Yes!” and the family celebration began! 💍❤️
