I (Kiah) was working as a travel nurse in OKC while Chas was working with the Air Force in Enid. We connected with each other on a dating app, Hinge, and quickly decided on a day and time to meet. Our first date lasted five hours and melted into a second and third date over the same weekend. We knew what we were looking for and that we enjoyed one another's company, but I don't think either of us could have known where this relationship would take us. The long distance portion of our relationship lasted 1.5 years and five states between the two of us, until I finally decided to join him in Anchorage, Alaska. A big leap of faith that proved to be worth it! On September 15th, 2024, Chas proposed to me at Eklutna Lake. It was a breathtakingly beautiful day, and I was completely surprised. Chas had done a very good job of dropping hints and leading me astray, making me believe that he was going to propose the day before and was on his way to go fishing that morning. Little did I know that he was waiting for me to arrive for a hike, or that this day would be the beginning of the next chapter of our lives together. Good job, Chas.
