we're getting married!

Due to COVID-19 and the quarantine, we could not apply for our marriage license. This forced us to postpone our wedding. Now that businesses are slowly reopening, we were able to apply for and received our license. We are excited to tie the knot on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at 12:30pm EST with our immediate family attending (following the state’s guidelines for gatherings during these times). Almost a year ago, two people decided to take a chance at the hopes of meeting that special someone through an online dating service. Tinder was our tool, we both swiped right and were a match! We chatted right away and, for the following few days, talked during Kia’s free time while she was away at a pool/billiards tournament. We couldn’t wait to meet in person. On Kia’s return day home from competing, we had our meet and greet at Starbucks. Although nerves were present in both of us (Kevin more so than Kia) our conversation was authentic, a breath of fresh air. Inspire of sweating (Kevin) and heart racing (Kia), neither one of us were at a loss of words. Go figure! We couldn’t wait to have our first date but had to wait since Kia was travelling again. Since Kia is vegan, Kevin wanted our first date to be at a vegan friendly restaurant. This would be his first time trying vegan/vegetarian food. We had dinner at one of Kia’s favorite restaurants – Great Sage. Before dinner we shot a few games of pool and followed dinner with a long in-depth conversation. We became Facebook official on April 22, 2019, although our entire journey was exclusive, deleting our dating profiles. Just days after, Kevin told Kia, “Mark this date on your calendar. I’m going to marry you one day!” It was April 26, 2019. For months Kevin talked about marrying Kia. Fast forward to Sunday, February 9, 2020, Kevin proposed to Kia and she said, “YES!”
