Travel Note
If you're traveling from out of town, note that Canyon and Amarillo are not walkable so (if you're flying) you'll need to rent a car. There are Ubers, of course. If you have enough time before the events, seeing Palo Duro Canyon is a must! It is the 2nd largest canyon in the United States and you can see some beautiful wildlife. In May, you can expect it to be hot and dry. While there may be a rainstorm, the venue has accommodations for weather. There are plenty of hotels in the area, though if you want the full experience of being in Amarillo, you have to stay downtown or near 6th street. They have fun things to do during the day and for nightlife.
