Sean and Khristian first met at the end of June 2020 during the COVID pandemic after talking on and off for about 4 weeks on Hinge, the dating app. Khristian joked (but was not kidding) with her best friend Fatima right before she went to meet Sean that Tuesday night at Starbucks in the Town Center, that if He liked her, then she just knew she was going to fall in love and marry him. So they hit it off at the town center, walking around talking and laughing. Khristian ended the night with a follow up that she had a really great time and hope to see him soon. Sean followed through with plans to go hiking that Saturday at Nocatee trails. They continued their long walks and talks visiting various places to hike in Jacksonville about 2-3 times a week. Sean and Khristian made their relationship official right before Sean left for his Month long trip out west with his best friend Josh Cross. Over the next few months they spent more and more time together. Khristian followed Sean's lead in their relationship and gradually things became more serious and the two fell in love.

In February after officially dating for 7 months, Sean asked Khristian her ring size and started researching rings to propose. She told him she didn't care what kind and thought it would be romantic if he picked it out himself when he was ready. Khristian always knew Sean's intentions from the very start were honorable and true. They both were on the same page in building a foundation of faith and friendship in God and each other. And just a few months later on Memorial Day weekend 2021, Sean kept insisting to Khristian that they should take a trip or go somewhere. Khristian was content staying home. They compromised on a day trip to Cumberland Island. Khristian was giddy all day just to be with Sean in a new place which is completely normal for her. After hiking around Cumberland Island for a few hours, and Khristian watching Sean take photographs of the scenery, the architecture and wildlife, they came across a private area surrounded by marsh which reminded them both of the first days getting to know one another. On the wood bridge leading out to the marsh, Sean, out of the blue said, "Hey I need to ask you something, you love me right?" And Khristian responded with a sigh and smiled "Of course I do". Then Sean proceeded to get down on one knee and asked "Will you Marry me?" Khristian could not believe it, and proceeded to ask in complete shock if he was serious. He was so serious. Khristian cried the happiest of tears, Sean clarified "So is that a yes?" YES.
