The dress code will be cocktail attire.
If traveling from out of state, we would recommend staying Friday and Saturday night given the distance from the airport.
We are closely monitoring COVID for any new developments leading up to the wedding, and will send updates as soon as possible should anything change. We don't know what's ahead but please know that no matter what, your health and safety are our priority. As such, we are asking all guests and vendors who are attending our wedding in-person to please be vaccinated before attending the wedding. If vaccination is not possible (and we understand that it may not be), please quarantine as recommended by the CDC prior to the wedding (1 week of quarantine with 1 negative test result produced 5 days after the beginning of quarantine). If anyone is feeling ill, has had contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID within the last 14 days, or tested positive for COVID in the past 14 days, we respectfully request that they stay home for the safety of our guests. If possible, we recommend that anyone who has not received a COVID vaccine drive to the wedding to reduce exposure at airports.
If it has been 14 days since symptoms first appeared or since you produced a positive test -and- you have not had a fever or other symptoms of COVID (with the exception of loss of taste or smell) without the use of fever-reducing medications, it is safe to attend according to CDC guidelines (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/end-home-isolation.html).
The wedding will be held outdoors and the guest list includes 45 people (89% of whom will be fully vaccinated, with the remainder quarantining and providing a negative test result), which is less than 50% of the limit recommended by the State of Illinois. Social distancing will be enforced by grouping guests into quarantine "pods," with limited guest count at each table. Tables will be spaced to ensure at least 6 feet of social distancing between tables. Food will be plated and provided by table service and drinks will be mixed and served by a bartender. Vendors will be asked to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test prior to the wedding.
In accordance with recently updated CDC guidelines (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/fully-vaccinated-guidance.html#anchor_1619527251589), fully vaccinated or recovered guests may choose whether to wear a mask while outdoors at their own discretion, although we strongly encourage mask adherence when interacting with guests outside of your "pod." We ask that any other guests wear masks whenever not eating or drinking and that all guests wear masks while using the bathroom (which will be indoors). Masks will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.
Yes! A Zoom link (https://mit.zoom.us/j/9340793094) will be provided to watch the wedding ceremony and we anticipate having a larger celebration later once it is safe to do so.
A shuttle will be provided from the hotel to the wedding venue before the start of the ceremony (pick up from hotel at 2:30 pm for 3:00 pm arrival), and from the after party to the hotel at the end of the night (pick up from after party at 11:00 pm for 11:30 pm arrival at hotel).
The couples will compile a list of all guests who attend the wedding, including first and last names as well as phone numbers. These will be provided to a COVID-19 contract tracer in the unfortunate situation that such measures are necessary following the wedding.
