Wedding Party

Meet our wedding party who are walking down the aisle with us.

Michael Lam

Groomsman

There's a saying that talking to old friends makes you realize how much our lives have changed, and I feel the exact same way whilst typing this. I've known Michael for over 13 years, and I've seen him become a dorm mate, a friend, a roommate, a housemate, to a husband and now a father. I could probably write an essay on all the memories and good times we've had, but one of my favorites would probably be me being his groomsmen for his wedding. Now, four years later, I will soon be adding to my list of favorites as he joins me at mine. Cheers bud~

Kathleen Win

Bridesmaid

I've known Kat since we were babies. Even though we are cousins, I've always regarded her as a sister. We do everything together, from swimming competitions to study sessions and family vacations. If I needed a shoulder to lean on to, I can always count on her to be there for me. A few years back she moved to Georgia to pursue, and recently achieved, her dream of becoming a doctor. Even though I miss her dearly, I could not have been more proud. It feels like yesterday when I was her bridesmaid at her wedding and I am truly blessed to have her here as mine.

Alfred Wong

Groomsman

Alfred and I met when I started my first job in San Francisco, and to me, trying to make do in a new city is never easy. Setbacks at work seem to hit extra hard and any progress you've made seem to matter little. A good coworker during this time is worth it's weight in gold. However, to say Alfred was a good coworker is an understatement. From his positive attitude to his empathetic nature, he is the kind of guy you can count on to let you vent your frustrations about work or suit up with you when you decide to skydive out a plane. I am honored to call him a friend over so many years.

Ei Ei

Bridesmaid

Me and Ei Ei met at a fundraising event over 15 years ago, but it was when we both worked together at Kumon where we became really close. Even though I later moved to Davis for school and we both led busy professional lives after that, we always found time to catch up for lost time. Probably the best memory I have with her was our vacation to Hawaii. Hands down best vacation ever! She is such a caring individual, not to mention a big ball of fun to talk to. Last but not least, our shared passion for Kpop definitely brought us closer.

Hanley Chen

Groomsman

How I met Hanley is a bit complicated, him being the boyfriend (now husband) of a friend I met at a work event. However, there's nothing complicated about the type of person he is. If I could describe him in a single word, it will probably be "genuine". He treats me like family, even though we've only known each other for a few years. Now, as a hard working and dedicated family man, he's still willing to lend a hand if I run into any difficulties in life. I look to him not only as a friend, but also a role model.

Khin Myo Thazin

Bridesmaid

Thazin and I met in 5th grade, before I came to the States. We partook in a school event where we both became nuns for 5 days, and that is when we became really close. Flash forward a few years, even though we both lived in different countries, we always found ways to keep in touch. Starting with hand written letters, and then via online chats once internet access was more common in Burma. I was overjoyed when I found out she was moving to the States to pursue her degree. There is never an dull moment with her, and she is one of the few people in my life where I can comfortably share and talk about anything.

Thuy Tran

Officiant

How me and Thuy became friends was truly remarkable. We first met during a Biology class at Davis. We chatted here and there, but once class ended we moved on with our lives. Never would I imagine we would bump into each other a few years down the line as lab coworkers (sort of). Even when I moved back to the Bay, she got approved to pursue her degree in San Francisco around the same time. I remember how happy I was when I heard the news. She is the type of person who radiates pure joy, and is willing to go above and beyond for those that she cares about. I am so honored to have her with us on this special day
