Josh & Amanda met at General Atomics, where they both worked in Facilities. They worked together for 3 years before they knew they were destined for each other. They communicated often due to the nature of their jobs, but both remained reserved & professional. When the pandemic hit in March of 2020, Amanda was sent home to work so their interaction became minimal. In January of 2021, Amanda had to return to work to meet her new boss. When she came on site, she decided to stop by the Construction Services building & say Hello, not knowing Josh would be there at that moment. Of course they had some laughs about her new boss being a joke, but something was different this time. Josh had a look in his eyes so different than any other time they talked. She decided to follow him on Instagram later that day & instantly he began liking pictures, & trying to make small talk. Josh asked Amanda out for a friendly “co-worker” hike & from then on their relationship moved very quickly. Their love for each other continued to grow stronger as time passed. In December 2021, Josh planned a family trip up to Yosemite to celebrate Amanda’s birthday for a couple of days. It was snowing like crazy every day they were there so stores& parks were closed, there was no wifi, or cell service, just them, the kids, & the dogs in a yurt, in the snow. On the 28th, Josh woke everyone up, made breakfast, & told us to get ready, because he was determined to find a way up to a waterfall. They ended up parking off at the bottom of the entrance & hiking up Carlon Falls Trail. Josh asked Amanda to stand with him to take a picture in front of it while the kids were taking pictures. Josh dropped down on one knee and asked Amanda to marry him. With pure excitement and fear of falling off the rock Amanda shouted “OMG noooooo.” The two starred into each others eyes as their forheads kissed and she finally said “Yes”. The view, the adventure, the thrill, just everything was surreal, even the ring!
