One Sunday afternoon, Gavin stopped me as I was walking out of Texas Arizona, a bar in downtown Hoboken, and dropped the most ingenious pick-up line of all time: "You look really familiar. I think I know you from somewhere." Incredulously, I responded, "Mmhm. You're full of it. Where do you think you know me from?" Stunned, but able to recover quickly, he threw out, "From down the shore.........?" Lucky guess? To this day, it's still up for debate. But being that I was living in Ocean Township at the time and made frequent weekend trips to Manasquan, I gave him the benefit of the doubt. The next weekend, we went on our first date. A couple weekends after that, Gav invited me to a friend's Thanksgiving Eve party, where I met the squad, as well as the whole fam beforehand. As if that wasn't enough, we also went hiking with his dad the next morning, an experience I will now forever cherish. From there, it wasn't long until we were unpacking boxes and making our first apartment together our home. We didn't follow the traditional timeframe of how some other relationships develop. For us, it was super speed straight from the jump. But, as I often caught myself saying throughout these last five years, "when ya know, ya know."
