Sunday 1/29/23
Friday: Lunch (depending on arrival time) Saturday: Dinner Sunday: Lunch Monday: Lunch, Dinner Please note: resort fees cover breakfast daily for 2 people per room.
We are excited to treat the ones we love to some fun events before the wedding, but feel free to sightsee or relax on your own schedule!
Yes! There is an hour between the post-ceremony cocktail hour at the resort and reception at the beach. If you want to change into comfier shoes for the beach and dance floor or swap your long dress/pants for something short, feel free. Do what you need to do to get ready to party all night!
We brought 6 cans of 50SPF sunscreen and used them ALL up! The equator sun is brutal. However, the temperature is super moderate (80s during the day down to 70s at night) and heat is dry for the most part. We only had a couple days of humidity. There is a nice breeze because the resort overlooks the water! We wore bathing suits and coverups daily then dressed a bit nicer for dinner - dresses, linen pants, short sleeve button downs, etc. for dinner. A couple evenings Kiersten wore jeans because it was just cool enough!
Here is the secret site they give you upon arrival! It has menus, the link to book spa appointments, contacts for booking excursions, and extra details about the resort itself: https://andazpuravida.com/ If you would like to book something, we suggest doing it in advance as the resort will be full when we are there in January!
We realize families have grown since our originally-planned date, and luckily the resort is kid friendly! We are suggesting adults only if you so choose, so moms and dads get a little reprieve while hanging with us in paradise, but understand if a little one needs to come along.
-Costa is hot, but less humid than expected (Trini fam - it’s way drier than Trinidad.) The resort is on the water, so the evenings with the breeze can have a slight chill. Kier wore jeans a couple times to dinner. -Reconsider staying longer than the weekend… just saying! -The resort is in a hillside = amazing views AND lots of steps. (Feels like home, Pittsburghers!) Good news: you’ll walk off all the amazing cocktails! Better news: you can text request a golf cart to/from anywhere. -Stock up on small bills prior to arrival. The service is outstanding. Jean had at minimum 30 limes delivered for our mini bar (king of the resort, of course lol.) -GORG Four Seasons golf course runs the length of the peninsula (10min shuttle away.) -Bugs are minimal, but are definitely out in the evenings. Pack bug spray! -The monkeys come out to play in mid-late afternoon! They WILL go through unattended bags. The Howlers are loud at night - Jurassic Park vibes! -Equator sun is no joke. Our fam used seven 50 spf bottles during our trip! -Beautiful indoor/outdoor gym on property. (Okay, overachievers!) Otherwise 4 pools, 2 beaches, paddle boards & snorkel gear available for anytime use and easily accessible jet ski rentals are available. -Book spa appointments in advance! -The restaurants on resort grounds are outstanding. We shuttled to The Four Seasons steakhouse for a change, and although beautiful, not worth the $$$$. -Tap water on the resort is filtered and completely okay to consume! Yay!!! If on an excursion OR while on the boat, do not drink the water. -We spent all day in swimsuits, hats, coverups. Dressing up a bit for dinners was fun! Highly recommending block heels/flat sandals for the cobblestones/walking. -Wedding reception is a 15min shuttle away from the resort. It is IN the sand, but there will be a dance floor. Highly recommending flat, comfortable sandals/shoes that are easy to kick off for dancing! YAY! We are SOOOO excited to return with all of you!
