Maid of Honor

Heather and I met in 2000 at Oregon State University as brand new freshman, both interested in the athletic training profession. That was merely the beginning of our 24 year friendship. We were classmates, roommates, and best friends. We have shared more than half of our lives as friends and there is no one else I could’ve or would’ve asked to stand up next to me and serve as my maid of honor.

Amy and I met at the University of Florida where we were both graduate students working with the Florida Gator swimming and diving teams and football and women’s golf teams respectively. We were also roommates my first year. We spent a lot of time together during and outside of work and became the best of friends. I moved away, eventually making my way back home, and she moved back to Kentucky, her home state. Even though we did not get to spend as much time together as we would have liked, we were always able to pick right back up where we left off. Devastatingly, Amy passed away from cancer on 11/13/2020 at the age of 40. Even though she is not here physically, she is certainly here, standing by my side today.

What can I say! Dan is my brother but he is also one of my best friends. We have obviously known each other our entire lives. We have always been close, even during our younger years when he would pretend not to know me as we roamed the halls in between classes at school or when we were fighting as all brothers and sisters do. There is no one else who could have filled his spot, and I am so honored to have him stand next to me today.

Sierra is my sister-in-law. She is the ultimate matchmaker and we all have her to thank for this day, as she is the one that introduced Chris and I. From the moment Chris and I were engaged, Sierra has been the wedding planner and true friend and sister helping me navigate the ins and outs of a wedding. She is irreplaceable and I am so thrilled to have her standing by my side this day.
