We met junior spring semester at Morehouse and Spelman College. We first met through mutual friends at a weekly block party at Morehouse and instantly had chemistry. Little did Cherie know, Chris had already asked a friend to introduce the two. A few group outings later, Chris asked Cherie to breakfast and a study date on a Saturday afternoon. We both anticipated only spending a few hours together, and ended up spending the entire day. This Saturday became one of the most amazing days of our lives: Breakfast at J. Christopher's, "studying" at Emory library, walking around Piedmont Park and ending the night watching CNN discussing our interests in politics. From the first date, we knew we found something special. It's crazy to say we have been dating since we were 20 years old! We have moved to the East coast together, been long distance for 3 years, and supported each other through graduate school. Over the last 7 years, we have learned the true meaning of love and commitment. Through all of our growing pains, our friendship has always kept us together. As we have falling more in love we are truly grateful and blessed to be getting married in 2021.
