Question

What can I expect from a dominican wedding?

Answer

Dominicans love a good wedding celebration! Expect a party full of merengue, bachata, and delicious Caribbean food. Festivities also tend to go quite a bit later in the Dominican Republic, so be sure to rest, hydrate, and caffeinate! Don't leave too early, or you may miss some special surprises...

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Our dress code is Black Tie Optional. Gentlemen, please wear your tuxedo or a formal dark suit and tie. Ladies, put on your favorite gown or formal dress.

Question

Can I get my hair and/or make-up done on the wedding day?

Answer

Yes, treat yourself! We are bringing in a team to the hotel (room TBD) for any of our guests who would like to get their hair and make-up done. Please contact Elis Mesa at +1 (849) 869-5054 via WhatsApp to schedule a time-slot for that day. Rates are $30 for hair, $50 for make-up, or $70 for both services. Tip in the DR is 10% for excellent service.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We want our wedding to be your night off! Our ceremony and reception will be adults only, but if you are traveling with kids, childcare will be available at the hotel Hodelpa Nicolas de Ovando. Please contact them directly to coordinate.

Question

Will photography be allowed at the wedding?

Answer

We kindly ask that no photos or videos be taken during the ceremony, as we've hired a professional photographer and videographer to capture our vows. However, we encourage you to capture (and share) any and all moments at the reception!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We will be starting the ceremony promptly at 6:30pm. Please plan your commute to arrive 15-30 minutes ahead of time.

Question

How far is the ceremony from the reception?

Answer

The ceremony will be located in the courtyard at the hotel Hodelpa Nicolas de Ovando. The reception is right next door to the hotel (to the right crossing the intersection if facing the main hotel entrance) at Casa de Bastidas.

Question

What if I have a medical emergency?

Answer

We hope no one needs this answer but just in case - the best nearby hospitals are Clinica Abreu or Clinica Abel Gonzalez Independencia.
