Keyshawn and Kayla met in 2018 at Avent Ferry Complex, a dormitory at NC State University. There was a scary movie night, and Keyshawn was adamant that everyone watching in the lounge (including Kayla) be quiet. This did not sit well with Kayla, who is deathly afraid of scary movies, so she proceeded to talk the entire time. Their next encounter was in the computer lab, where Kayla opened up to Keyshawn about her struggles with deciding on a path for her major. Keyshawn listened the entire time and even provided sound advice. Kayla discovered that Keyshawn wasn't so bad, and they became friends. After a series of Burger King runs, geography competitions, karaoke nights and library dates, Keyshawn and Kayla found themselves falling for each other. After 8 years of love, laughter, and long flights, Keyshawn and Kayla are continuing to write their story, not just as college sweethearts, but as husband and wife.
