Tyree’s recollection: We went to the same high school (Home of the Sentinels!) I was an upper classman. I remember always seeing her and thinking how pretty I thought she was. I could spot her through a crowd. There was just a magnetic chemistry. Something just always drew my attention to her. We talked from time to time. She was really good friends with one of my really good friends and I would always tell him that I liked her and to hook me up but I don’t think he ever followed through. One day I decided to shoot my shot myself. We had a class that was right across from each other in the same building. Before the bell rang for class to start, I approached her and asked her out. She responded “I have a boyfriend, I’m sorry.” And just like that the bell rang and that was that. Keyakee’s recollection: I remember seeing Tyree around school all the time. We had friends in common and we would chat every now and then. He was so sweet, nice and mild mannered but so shy! We would hang out sometimes before school started in the morning but there was never any indication to me that he liked me, until the day he asked me out. I remember It like it was yesterday. I felt so bad having to turn him down because I had a boyfriend. We would still talk when we would see each other but he never pressed the dating issue again. 15 years later: Ty: I saw her profile on Facebook. Keke: he slid into my DM’s. Ty: I struck up a conversation. It was her birthday. So I wished her a happy birthday! Keke: from there we talked and talked via messenger for about 3 months & found that we had a lot in common. Ty: Finally, I asked her out... again! Keke: and this time I agreed! ( I was single) Ty: I picked her up and we went out! Keke: We had so much fun just laughing and talking. I fell in love with his smile! Ty: I thought she was the prettiest girl in the room. Ty & Keke: we’ve been inseparable every since! Ty: So, waiting 15 years... Keke: Was definitely worth the wait!! Ty: Definitely!
