The Beginning of Our Forever

It all started in 2012. I was headed out of the breakroom at work & that’s when I saw it...the most beautiful smile & chuckle. I didnt know who she was but from that day, I always observed her, looked for every opportunity to see her. Later in the year, we finally introduced ourselves with the help of a co-worker. October 5, 2012, we exchanged numbers. I started to notice her strength & realized she’s the first person that didn’t look like what she’s been through. After a few months, I began to catch feelings & asked her if she wanted to pursue a relationship. She rejected me feeling that I was not experienced enough & that I needed to find out who I am. I had to deal with the thoughts of rejection. I chose to truly be her friend & be there for her regardless. This turned out to be my greatest blessing. Over the next 6 years, we both entertained other relationships as we remained friends. Watching from the sidelines, I watched her grow & slowly started to notice what type of woman she was in a relationship. She gave her all as she supported whoever she was with. Any time she had an event if I could go see & support her, I made sure I was there didn’t matter where she was. I just had to see her. Also sending her flowers “just because”. Finally, on the night 6/8/17, we had a long conversation where we shared our views on relationships. I knew it was the start of something new. From that day on, I considered her MINE. Over the past year & a half, our relationship has exceeded my expectations. I realized she came from my rib & I decided to present her back to God. She has truly pushed me to become the man God wants me to be. I ask God daily to lead & guide me because she is truly a gift from HIM & I want to be a great steward over it. I never realized how incomplete I was until we came to agreement. Now I can’t & don’t want to be without her!! I truly thank God for bestowing HIS favor upon me.
