2018: Both swiped on a dating app to meet after seeing they both loved Liverpool. First date, he talked a lot out of nerves. She talked very little out of nerves. Mid-date, they realized they had a mutual friend: Candace Kirkpatrick (she worked with Rachel and was Kevin’s cousin…small world!). A selfie of the couple was sent to Candace by Rachel with the question: “Anything I need to know?”. Candace gave the all clear and the rest of the nerves faded. First date quickly turned into so many dates turned into moving in together before the pandemic hit. The joke was if they could make it through Covid, they could make it through anything. And they did. 2021: The fur baby Goober was adopted and again. They agreed if they could make it through a puppy, they could make it through anything. And they did. 2024: Kevin got down on one knee and asked “can we continue our story?” in front of the Millennium Falcon in Disney World. Rachel jumped, cried, and, of course, said yes. We are both so incredibly excited to continue this journey together, and are so thrilled to have our family and friends be with us when we exchange our vows.
