Bride
Zakerah Horn was born to Danny Horn and Lisa Doakes in Los Angeles, California. Her family nicknamed her Sugar, which so many of us still call her today. Her father always said she was his daughter with wings, which was highlighted when she chose to attend Bennett College, in North Carolina. While attending Bennett, she studied abroad in Costa Rica and Cyprus, as she was determined to see the globe. Her traveling didn’t stop there, as she’s ventured to Dubai, Thailand, and Europe. She joined the sisterhood of Alpha Kappa Alpha, graduated Magna Cum Laude, and relocated to Chicago for her first job. Chicago quickly became her forever home, after having her daughter and then finding her soulmate.

Kevin Savage Jr. is the eldest of two brothers. A Bulls, Bears, and White Sox fan, highlights Kevin's Chicago roots. His dad was a huge supporter of him playing football, which awarded him a scholarship for high school. He later attended Illinois State University where he studied political science. Kevin knew he wanted to have an impact on society which drove his career choices, later becoming a firemen and paramedic. When he is not helping others, he can be found living out his past grid iron glory. Kevin is the life of any party and has an instant way with people. Maybe that's how he secured his Fiancé?

To say I'm a Daddy's girl is an understatement. My father is my voice of calm, reason, and sanity. He keeps me rooted, when my mind has me moving as a tornado. He calls me his daughter with Wings, as I'm forever on an airplane. I'm blessed to have my father, also be an ordained minister. My father will be giving me away and also marrying me to my husband.

Kevin Savage Sr., the second oldest of 5. He is no longer with us but his legacy continues through his two sons. Kevin was a people person and a talker. He would talk your ear off about a vast array of subject matters. A loving father who is truly missed.

Mother of the Bride
I am forever grateful for the woman who gave me life. She has helped shaped me into the woman that I am today. My mom has relocated her entire life to be active in her granddaughter's life. I'm honored to be surrounded with love and support. Now she can stop asking for future grandchildren, because they'll be on their way shortly.

Sandra Savage is the youngest of 5 daughters. She worked tirelessly to instill great values to both of her sons. She is terrible with names so don't be offended if she forgets yours! Despite forgetting your name, she will treat you like one of the family.

I'm so fortunate, to have my beautiful little angel, toss flowers on our wedding day. She has softened my hard exterior, and allowed me to view the world from her carefree eyes. God knew I needed her, I couldn't have asked for a more perfect daughter to share with Kevin.

My little brother will safeguard the rings, like the little soldier he is. He is the sweetest little boy with the cutest smile, and is ecstatic to play such an important role.

I couldn’t have done this amazing thing called life, without my Better Half Bre. We met when we were in elementary school and have stuck together like glue. Getting drunk at parties, getting into fights, losing loved ones and gaining daughters; are a short list of our endless memories. I’m scared of what she may say during her toast! I’m honored to have gained a sister, who is honest, caring, and selfless. Bre is my forever friend, no time or distance will change that.

Zakiyyah is my older sister and has a firecracker personality. Like any sisterhood, some days are filled with laughs and hugs while others are filled with yelling and fights. Even with our emotional roller coaster, she always upheld the role of my protector. No one could pick on me, except her of course!

My little brother, we met when I was 6. He came into this world and has been following me around ever since. He’s full of life, so joyful, and energetic. I can’t wait to see what amazing things he will accomplish in life.

Can I wear your clothes? Can you do my hair? Can I go with you? These are all questions I asked my sister often, as she was only two years older. I was the typical annoying little sister, and she tolerated me the best she could. Its interesting to say that the best part of our sisterhood, was when she moved to Chicago! We got to develop a strong bond as sisters, and it's a time I'll always cherish.

Wayne has been a friend, no a brother for more than 30 years. We grew up on Bishop, and he took me under his wing. He is always helping and providing advice on a vast array of topics.

Ikeia is the party queen of my life, ensuring my college experience was a blast! We met freshman year, and each year of college brought us closer together and more wild parties. Ikeia echoes my energy; when I cry, she cries and when I laugh, she laughs. She has the biggest heart and will literally give her last to someone in need.

Savage and Project. If two nicknames were destined to be friends these were it. We met on a random day in 07 when we both decided to skip school and hang at the beach. Who would’ve thought that random day we would become drinking buddies, anime friends, and roommates.

I met Chardette as a junior in college, after joining Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. She quickly became the little sister; I’ve never had and never knew I needed. We have become travel buddies; with highlight trips to Miami, Dubai, and Cuba! Chardette forces me to grow as a big sister, pushing me to be kind, patient, and loving all while maintaining the slight annoyance only a little sister can do.
