Our story is sweet and simple. Suzannah and Kevin met while watching the Thor movie in the court yard of their school, McMurry University. We were friends for two and half years. When Suzannah graduated from McMurry, she stayed in Abilene. Kevin had moved back to Midland. That is when we began to miss each other and we realized we liked each other, were happiest together, and were more than just friends! We came to realize we could spend the rest of our lives together. We dated for almost 5 years, and are best friends.

Kevin joined the Army in June and we haven't seen each other since. We have only communicated - when permitted - by phone and Skype. Because of Covid -19, no one could attend Kevin’s graduation from Basic Training when Kevin had intended to propose to Suzannah with both families present. Covid-19 prevented any opportunity for Kevin to propose in person before a short two week leave in late December, after which he would be shipped off for a year or more duty assignment. Kevin would not to be denied! Kevin told Suzannah that he accidentally sent her “birthday” present to his parents’ house. When Suzannah returned to Midland she picked up her “birthday” present from Kevin’s parents’ house on Sunday, September 6, 2020. On September 7, 2020, Labor Day, Suzannah and Kevin Skyped each other. This was the first time for them to see each other since June 7th! Kevin had on his full Army combat uniform. After Suzannah opened her “birthday” present to the final box, Kevin asked her to look at the camera. Kevin was down on one knee and told Suzannah, "You have made me the happiest person! You have made me a better person! Will you marry me?“ Suzannah yelled, "YES, I will marry you!" Suzannah and Kevin had a virtual proposal, a Covid-19 proposal and engagement! Suzannah and Kevin have not seen each other except by Skype since June and will not see each other until December 20th, just a few days before the wedding on December 23rd. Kevin will graduate January 19, 2021 and his first assignment is in Lawton, Oklahoma, at Fort Sill. This will be an exciting new adventure to embark on together! Suzannah and Kevin are so excited to see each other, hold each other and start their new lives together as Husband and Wife!
