How We Met

It all started with a Facebook friend request....

Stephanie's close friend, Brianna, met a guy named Kevin Luna at a party. She told Stephanie how dreamy he was and how she wanted to find him on Facebook (to snoop of course!). Stephanie helped her in her search and came across a profile with the name Kevin Luna, however, his page was on private so they couldn’t tell if this guy was the guy they were searching for. Brianna asked Stephanie to add him as a friend to see if it was him because of course, he couldn't know she was searching for him. Being a good friend, Stephanie added this stranger to which he accepted the friend request and sent her a message saying "Hey, do I know you?". They soon discovered this Kevin Luna was the wrong Kevin Luna (oops!) but Stephanie responded to his message explaining the situation to which he responded with a "lol" and something brief. They both kept each other as friends but never talked again until January 2015. When Stephanie moved back from AZ following her graduation from ASU she posted a status saying something along the lines of "I need more friends out here". He responded to her status by writing her a direct message saying, "I'll be your friend" (smooth!). They started talking over Facebook which soon lead to texting and then to meeting in person. Once they officially met, there was an instant connection...without a doubt, it was meant to be!

The Proposal

The year after COVID lock down...

Kevin often struggles with keeping a surprise a secret; however, he didn't struggle with this one. After months of research to find the perfect ring, Kevin finally made the plunge. He wanted to pop the question once she was about to finish her master’s program to avoid being the target of the stress that comes with planning a wedding while being in school (smart man!). After having the ring for two weeks in his nightstand drawer and admiring it every day (aw!). He put his plan into action with the help of Stephanie's best friend, Celina. He arranged to have dinner at Olive Terrace on April 10, after her class. He told her "we haven't gone out in a while, let's go out to dinner". Stephanie didn't think much of it as they hadn't gone out to a sit-down dinner in a while due to COVID. As she was getting ready, for a spilt second it crossed her mind that this could be 'the day', however, she was doubtful because she was convinced that he would be a nervous wreck (which he wasn't!). They ate delicious food and had the best service (the start to a perfect night!). On their way back home, Kevin took a longer route to buy time. She asked him, "where are you going?", his response was, "oops I wasn't paying attention". Once again, she thought nothing of it. As they pulled into the parking garage and walked up to their front door, she noticed the light on. Kevin asked her if she had left the lights on as he opened the door. Awaiting her was the biggest surprise of her life! There were rose petals aligned on the floor in a path leading to more petals in the shape of a heart, candles everywhere, a table set with pictures along with a dozen long stem roses/white flowers, and K & S lettering (Wow!). Not to mention heart balloons all around, balloon lettering on the wall reading 'Marry Me' and the song Good as You by Kane Brown playing in the background. It was defiantly Pinterest-worthy! Stephanie cried her eyes out as she did not see this coming and of course she said "YES!".
