Toward the end of our sophomore year, Kevin finally built up the courage to ask his volleyball crush (not Sophia) to go to the last dance of the school year. Unfortunately, Sophia was standing next to his “so-called” crush when Kevin lost all of his manly courage and he decided to ask Sophia instead. Sophia immediately replied with a hard “no.” As fate would have it, Sophia was convinced to go by her friends. By the time of the dance, Sophia and Kevin were mere acquaintances. Unknown to Kevin, Sophia was exceptionally skilled in performing a mating dance (in former times known as bumping and grinding) which lit a special feeling that Kevin had never felt before from another woman. Thinking with his “other head”, Kevin pursued Sophia to start a relationship that blossomed into what we see today.

Sophia was completing a rotation at an animal hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona during her last year of Veterinary School. During her last year of vet school, Kevin decided to propose FINALLY, which ended up being a year-long secret amongst close friends and family. During her rotation, Kevin decided to visit and took her to a restaurant where he planned a “regular” dinner date for the both of them. As soon as they sat down, Kevin began to tell Sophia how this day would be extremely special for both of them. Since Sophia had no idea, she was more focused on the menu. After he finally got her attention, Kevin expressed how much she meant to him, how amazing of a person she was, and how much he loves her. He took the ring out of his pocket, got down on one knee, and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. She dramatically said, “OF COURSE!!”.
