How We Met

We were what seemed like the only two people on Tinder looking for a real relationship. Kevin relied on his expert prose to strike up a conversation with what seemed like very cool & adventurous rugby player. He summoned all his strength, and finally settled on the pickup line "where that rock pic at?" Fortunately for him, Selena was on a 12 hour trek to Indiana and had nothing better to do then humor the bearded, balded profile who had just messaged her. When you start there, conversations can only go up, and they did! We proceeded to talk online and via text every day/all day for about a month, much to Kevin's chagrin, who was eagerly awaiting a first date. Out of fear of meeting a stranger from the internet, Selena had cancelled our first date plans twice....fortunately, the third time's the charm - and we hit it off despite neither of us enjoying Bertucci's.

The Proposal

Kevin, being the planner that he is, had a 'flexible idea' of how to propose. He knew he wanted to do it at the Wilmington Riverfront (where he had asked Selena to be his girlfriend), he knew he wanted to be proposing to Selena, and that was about it. Getting Selena to the Riverfront with the ring in his pocket proved to be more challenging that his plan had allotted for. The parents were told that it was 'probably going down within the hour' and Kevin's plan was underway. It was supposed to start raining at 12pm, and we had left the apartment at 11:15 to go get Dunkin for breakfast. Selena was very insistent that we go to the Dunkin completely out of the way of the Riverfront because "it's the best one." In spite of her persistence, we departed the Dunkin Drive thru, avocado toast in hand. Kevin had seeded the 'subtle' idea of 'going for a walk Saturday morning at the Riverfront' earlier in the week. Caffeinated and avocado'd up, Selena suggested that we execute Kevin's original idea. We arrived at the Riverfront with 2 minutes to spare. Kevin quickly led us to the Compass where we like to walk to each direction and kiss in the middle (I know aren't we the cutest/most annoying). Kevin got down on one knee and before he could place the ring on Selena's finger she grabbed it, said yes, and put it on herself. Kevin wasn't complaining though. We proceeded to walk around and flash the ring at any other passers by, so that they knew we were engaged...I know you were wondering, it never ended up raining.

For all the days along the way
