FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Formal (suits or tuxes for men, long dresses for women).

Question

Can I bring my kids or a plus one?

Answer

We are so excited for each and every one of you to help us celebrate our special day! We kindly share that all guests are limited to those named on your invitation.

Question

Transportation to the church

Answer

You are welcome to drive or use ride-share (Uber, Lyft) to travel to Holy Spirit. There is plenty of parking, but cars cannot be left overnight. Please arrive no later than 2:45pm as the ceremony will begin promptly at 3pm, and make sure to account for crazy ATL traffic!

Question

Things to know going into the ceremony

Answer

We will be having a full mass. If you are not Catholic, you are welcome to stay in your seats during communion, or proceed through the line and get blessed by the priest (signaled by creating an "X" across your chest with both hands), but please do not take the communion offering. If you need an example, just watch the bride!

Question

Things to know in the time following the ceremony

Answer

We will be doing a church exit, so please do not leave for the reception immediately following the ceremony.

Question

Transportation to and from the reception

Answer

Given the gap of time between the ceremony and reception, as well as the close proximity (an easy drive down Northside), we will not be providing transportation. If you drive to the ceremony, we encourage guests to drop their cars back off at the hotel or at their homes. There will be complementary valet services for the evening at The Optimist, but we strongly encourage rideshare (Uber/Lyft).

Question

Food and beverage program at the reception

Answer

We are opting for a reception-style event for the evening rather than a fully seated dinner. Guests can expect several rounds of food, i.e., hors d'oeuvres for cocktail hour, more filling and larger portioned passed dishes, and a later-night offering. All allergies will be accommodated. While there will not be a formal seated dinner, don't worry, there will be plenty of seating options throughout the space.
