- vomiting inside or outside the facility ($50-75 per occurrence) - urinating on property other than in the restrooms ($75 per occurrence) - guest declines credit card bar charges - harassment/profanity to an employee ($50 per occurrence) - unauthorized occupancy of the facility beyond the event time ($50 per 15 minutes) - alcohol found in the parking lot OR on someone that has not been purchased at the facility - substances such as marijuana or other drugs; *If any substances are discovered, the venue would contact the local police and the event would be terminated immediately. DO NOT bring drugs or else Kevin and Melissa would be very upset!* - no outside food or drinks These violations can spoil our wedding day for all of our guests. Please be considerate of everyone.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Formal attire. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are in the military, it is optional to wear your dress blues.

Where are the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception taking place?

Answer

Everything will take place at The Garden Room in La Habra, CA. The address is listed on the invitation.

Will the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Everything is indoors. The Garden Room has a chapel, cocktail lounge (21+ only), and banquet hall within its walls. There is also a patio area with a fire pit.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive about 30 minutes before the ceremony start time. The ceremony begins at 6 pm, so try to arrive by 5:30 pm.

Is there parking for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes, there is a parking lot that can accommodate all guests. Parking is FREE.

Can guests take photos during the wedding ceremony?

Answer

NO. We would love to see your faces, not your devices. Please put away your phones and cameras until AFTER the ceremony. Our photographer and videographer will take care of documenting our special moment.

Can guests take and post pictures during the cocktail hour and reception and post on social media?

Answer

You may use your phones/devices to take pictures during the cocktail hour and reception. We encourage guests to post pictures onto their social media channels. Our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #mybigfatgriartewedding so we can keep track of all of your pictures!

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the wedding party will be taking pictures in the chapel and outside the venue. Guests can head straight to the banquet hall (or cocktail lounge for guests ages 21 and over) where hors d'oeuvres will be served. There are also plenty of other options across the street if you're not in the mood for free food.

December weather in Southern California usually has temperatures from 50-69 degrees Fahrenheit.

Can I bring a date?

We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. If your significant other is not already on the guest list, contact Kevin or Melissa and we can sort it out.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Kids are very much welcome to celebrate with us! However, The Garden Room is a facility meant for adults so no provisions for children will be made. The venue is unable to accommodate baby strollers and high chairs are not allowed. Infants in car seats may NOT be placed on the floor. Please supervise children to be on their best behavior!

What type of food and drink will be served during the cocktail hour and reception?

Answer

The Garden Room will serve a deluxe hot buffet during the reception. This includes roast beef, chicken marsala, vegetables, potatoes, rice, Julienne salad, rolls and butter, and fresh fruit.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes, FOR INVITED GUESTS ONLY. Please drink responsibly. We all want to have a great time but we also want everyone to remember it!

Are we allowed to take the centerpieces home?

Answer

NO. Please do not take home the centerpieces because they belong to The Garden Room venue. If you take a centerpiece home, Kevin and Melissa would have to pay for it.

Do you have any hotel blocks?

Answer

No. We tried to reserve a hotel block, but we could not find enough wedding guests who need hotel rooms. However, please visit the "Travel" page for hotel recommendations and more information.

I'm visiting from out of town. What can I do while I'm in the area?

Are you registered? Where?

Yes, we have a wedding registry on Zola. Please visit the "Registry" page to take a look at it.

Can I bring my gift to the wedding?

Answer

Of course you may! There will be a gift table located in the venue to place them. However, we prefer that you buy an item from the registry so it can be shipped directly to us. Less for us to pack up to bring home. Convenient for everyone!

May I give money to the bride and groom instead of buying a physical gift?

Answer

Of course! If you would like to give a monetary gift, we prefer that you send us money through Zelle or Venmo. Please ask Kevin or Melissa for their Zelle/Venmo information. We prefer electronic payments to help prevent monetary gifts from getting lost or stolen. If you still wish to gift us with cash or checks, there will be a wedding card box on the gift table.

When will the reception end? Will there be an after-party?

The reception will end at 11:30 pm. There is no after-party because we're old and get tired early. Just kidding. Kevin and Melissa want everyone to party hard enough during the reception that an after party is not needed!
