Megan and Kevin’s story began long before either of them knew what love really was. They’ve been part of each other’s lives since 2002, when they first met on the playground at Pleasant Grove Elementary, usually with Kevin chasing Megan around during recess. Growing up together through elementary school, middle school, and high school, Megan always had a soft spot for “cute little Kevin Serne.” After graduating high school in 2015 their friendship turned into something more than just a friendship; but Megan headed off to college, while Kevin began working and eventually joined the United States Air Force. Life took them in different directions, but like any good love story, they always seemed to find their way back to one another. In July of 2021, Kevin came home on leave from Cheyenne WY, and a group of friends gathered for dinner at Umai to catch up, an evening that naturally ended at their hometown bar; The Wrangler. After a couple of Coronas and Coors Lights, Megan finally asked Kevin, “So when are you going to ask me on a date?” From that moment on, they spent the rest of Kevin’s time in Sacramento inseparable, surrounded by friends and familiar places. For the next year and a half, Megan flew back and forth to Wyoming nearly every month while Kevin finished his contract. When that chapter finally came to an end, they started the next one together; moving into their home in Carmichael, California, in 2025. And shortly after, Kevin “tricked” Megan into a trip to Sonoma for what she thought was just wine tasting… until he popped the big question. From playground crushes to lifelong partners, Megan and Kevin are so excited to celebrate the beginning of forever together.
