As many people know, Kevin and I spent most of our childhoods living five minutes away from each other, we didn’t meet until we were 11 year olds in the sixth grade when our classrooms were right next to each other. Before I even officially met Kevin, I instantly thought he was extremely cute and had a crush on him! After five years of our friendship and care for each other growing, our relationship was clearly developing into something more and everyone we knew was praying that we would just be together already! The idea of going from friends to dating was nerve-wracking and we weren’t sure if it was the right decision. I remember telling myself that if we were meant to be together, then we would be one day. Thankfully after some encouragement from our friends, Kevin made the *first* best decision of his life and asked me to be his girlfriend on February 26, 2019– the day we became high school sweethearts! ~ Liliana
Although planning the proposal was a little nerve wracking, it turned out to be a fun and memorable process. Having photos and pictures in mind, I knew I could not do it alone either. I enlisted the help of Liliana’s best friend and maid of honor to help make it perfect. We conspired about decorations, the setting and the logistics of getting photos and film. When the day came, it felt surreal. It was a beautiful fall day and the autumn colors were nearing their peak. I planned an early dinner to get the timing just right with golden hour. On the ride back up the mountain, my stomach was all butterflies. I took her out of the car and told her how much she meant to me all the way up to the cabin’s porch. Alanna had framed it perfectly with rose pedals and candles. And just as the sun set I bent down on one knee and asked her to marry me. She said yes! What followed was a whirlwind of emotion. All three of us were crying and it was the happiest I had ever felt. ~ Kevin
