One of our mutual friends invited him to my 21st birthday party at my house. He rang the doorbell and when I opened the door I saw the biggest and brightest smile. Throughout the night I tried to keep my distance away from him, but then I lost my phone. He handed me his phone so I could call mine. The rest was history after that.

August 29th is our anniversary and every year we try to do something special. We'd usually go to Disneyland, but because of the pandemic we chose not to. Instead, Kevin planned for us to take pictures at Mt. Rainier but because we live in Washington the weather was not favorable. So, Kevin surprised me and took me to Point Defiance Park. He knew that I've been wanting to go to Point Defiance Park so I thought it was really sweet of him! We set up a spot to have a picnic and then Kevin handed me a card and in it he apologized for having me wait so long for this moment. He went back to his car and grabbed roses for me then started to play a song on the speaker I gave to him on his first birthday we celebrated together. Low and behold, Kevin started to sing "Latched" by Sam Smith! My cheeks were hurting because I was smiling so much! He picked up a rose from the bouquet he gave me and asked me to dance with him. At the end of the song, he got down on one knee and opened the rose he picked up and inside it was a beautiful ring then he asked, "Will you marry me?" I was speechless. I nodded my head and started to cry. It was the best moment of my life.
