Kacie's POV: I met Kevin during freshman orientation at Morse High School and it’s kind of funny how we became friends. The school was fundraising and selling Jamba Juice drinks. I was in line with a friend and Kevin was behind us. My friend randomly paid it forward and bought Kevin his drink. It was Kevin's lucky day. Well, it got luckier soon after. For some reason, I felt inclined to talk to him and thought to myself "hmm, let's see if this guy would buy drink." and lo and behold he did. Not much persuading either. From there, we remained good friends through high school until the summer before senior year. Kevin and I grew closer…like real close. Feelings escalated and conversations on the phone got longer and longer. I started to actually like the bum. That summer, he pretty much professed his love for me, and feelings were mutual 😊 After we graduated, we broke up for a year (I'm going to just gloss over that...), but we found each other again. From the time spent apart, we grew as individuals and eventually learned that there was no one else we’d want by our sides other than each other. Kevin is my best friend, travel buddy, confidant, business partner, partner in crime, cheerleader and he truly knows me inside and out. My favorite times with him are when we pig out on our favorite food cause if you know us-you know we're foodies. Or it could be when we're staying cozy at home with a good show on. We’re a team and I'm absolutely in awe knowing we get to build our own family and lives together. We love creating memories with our friends and family and we can't wait to see you all and celebrate! It was in the auditorium where some kids were fundraising and selling $5 Jamba Juice smoothies. I approached a student to buy a smoothie, and as I was ordering, a guy, who eventually became a friend, insisted on paying for my drink. Wow! A free smoothie and a new friend! As I was about to leave with my smoothie, I heard a girl loudly say, "Oooh, you got a free smoothie? Can you get me one?" I turned around to see a girl named Kacie nicely introducing herself. "Ugh, there goes my freebee. I mean, I guess I'll buy her a drink," I thought. I was trying to make friends, and I had no reason not to pay it forward. And so began the long tradition of me spending all my money on buying Kacie food. Over time, we became friends, then good friends, then best friends, and in 2012, we started dating. And through all the phases in our relationship and almost 12 years of being with Kacie, one thing always held true – I always wanted to be around her. Her presence and aura make life more fun! What started as us being annoyingly attached at the hip became one of our greatest strengths as we grew older and experienced more of life. It's easy to say I want to be around her when things are sweet, but over the span of our relationship, she's become the person I want to be around even when things really suck (even when she's the cause, lol). I'm looking forward to embarking on our next chapter together in marriage, and I'm super excited to celebrate with you all! Cheers! Woohoo!
