Kevin and I met in 2018 through a mutual friend and became good friends for awhile, then Kevin asked me to be his date for his best friend's wedding (who are now also my best friends!) and we started dating. Then about 8 or 9 months later Kevin learned that he had a genetic disease (he was adopted, so they didn't know) that caused him to lose 90% of his vision, at the age of 23, and he became fully disabled. It was understandably a life changing event, and we parted ways briefly while Kevin figured out who he was and rebuilt himself and his life. A year and a half ago, I moved to Nashville to pursue my career in the film and television industry, and we did 'long distance' for about a year (it's long distance when only one person can do all of the traveling and works full time!) That was the second hardest thing we've ever had to face! Kevin moved down to join me here last March, and in September got his first job since becoming fully disabled! We got engaged in November, and somehow, by the grace of God, we bought a house in December! We have fought hard and struggled and laughed and lived fully and been so very blessed every step of this wild ride, so here we are! Thanks for being here!
