Jerica and Kevin first met at work in Charleston, SC. At the end of Kevin's first day at CGI, Jerica was the last of a very long cycle of awkward desk to desk introductions. Jerica gave her best elevator pitch about her role and the company, while Kevin nervously refused to make any eye contact and walked away without making much of an impression, or so he thought. After the group left Jerica’s desk, she turned around to a co-worker and said “I will remember everyone’s name in that group expect one guy that wouldn’t even look at me.” However, even though Kevin completely ignored Jerica she was determined to get him to notice her. A few days after completely botching the first interaction Kevin was tasked with helping Jerica update a configuration guide. As Kevin and Jerica were working together, Jerica couldn’t help to think how sweet Kevin was. Out of the 5 new members helping, he was the only one staying after hours to help her finish the document. Jerica wanted to learn more about Kevin, so she invited him to a birthday party. Throughout the night Kevin tried everything in his power to get her attention. Whatever he did must have worked because after a couple more times hanging out he asked her to be his girlfriend and she said yes.

A random Friday in April, Kevin had asked Jerica to go to dinner. After they both got ready, Kevin suggested they take some pictures with their dogs on the front porch. Little did Jerica know that the ring was in his pocket. Kevin set up his phone and told Jerica it was on a self-timer, while it was actually recording him stumbling over his words as he dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him.
