Thailand is a fairly easy country to get around. We recommend all of our guests download the GRAB app on their phones which is Thailand's version of Uber. Rides typically cost between $1-3 dollars US. On the other hand, if you have a motorcycle license you can rent your own motorcycle for $6-8 US per day or a car for $20-30/day. We urge that you exercise caution when driving and make sure you have your international license.
You can go to your local AAA office and get an International Driving Permit the same day. Just fill out their form and bring 2 passport size photos. This process generally takes 30 minutes and costs $25. You will have an International Driver's Permit that is valid in over 100 countries immediately.
In September, Thailand's weather is fairly warm and tropical with an average of 85 °F so dress accordingly. Shorts, tanks top, sandals and sundresses are ideal. Feel free to shop for most of your clothes on arrival, as Thailand's prices are super affordable and as low as $2! Here's our recommended list of things you may want to bring! - Passport and a photocopy (Make sure your passport does not expire in less than 6 months of travel) - Beach formal attire for the wedding - Light Breathable Clothes - Swimwear - Comfortable shoes - Camera - Hat/Sunglasses
Thailand is a country that specializes in custom suits and dresses. There are tons of shops that will make a custom suit or dress for you the same or next day. They typically cost $60-200 for a full piece suit including a custom shirt, jacket, pants and tie depending on the materials and style you choose. You will be able to pick our your own fabric.
We will have an optional excursion planned once a day throughout the week. Feel free to hang out with Kevin and Issa in these group activities. Otherwise, explore the town and check out our Things to do page to see our recommended activities in the town!
