If you’re looking to immerse yourself in the local vibe, immediately, hop on a bike at Hotel Casa Del Mar and ride South on the beach path a couple of miles to Venice Beach and beyond. Venice is buzzing with lots of Southern California highlights, including the Body Builders on Muscle Beach, skateboarders, beach volleyball players, surfers and more! If you don’t want to ride, there’s a walking lane, too. We recommend you go early as it gets very crowded in Venice, especially on the weekends. If you’re looking for a more peaceful ride or walk, head North on the beach path toward Malibu. You’ll pass the iconic Santa Monica Pier and you can grab a drink/bite Back on the Beach cafe. Hiking There are many great hikes within 5 miles of the Hotel to which you can take an Uber. The Hotel offers a complimentary car service that you can try before booking an Uber. Kentor and Mandeville Canyons in Brentwood are two of our favorites.
The Getty Center is the closest to the Hotel, about 15-minutes away by car. An architectural marvel, designed by Richard Meir, The Getty Center is an oasis atop a mountainside featuring pre-20th-century European art, panoramic views of LA, and beautiful gardens and outdoor sculpture.
