Everyone likes to imagine their love story as a fairy tale, but how many couples get to meet during an ACTUAL fairy tale? Elizabeth and Kevin met during the 2019 Not So Common Players summer outdoor production of "Beauty and the Beast." They had seen each other in many local theater productions but had never met. They both remember walking into callbacks, noticing that the other was there and thinking that it was bound to be a great show. Elizabeth was cast as Madame de la Grande Bouche. Kevin was the Prince (and a dancing knife!). Sorry, Belle, that summer the wardrobe got the guy.
So many of Kevin and Elizabeth’s most treasured memories come from their time spent on Cape Cod. This past June, they high-tailed it out of East Greenbush on the last day of Elizabeth’s school year, ready to kick off the summer and get away together. Their first full day in Yarmouth Port was spent doing all of their absolute favorite activities: getting iced lattes at the coffee shop across the street from their bed and breakfast, perusing the shelves of the local used bookstore, and enjoying a perfect beach day. That evening, Kevin suggested that they pick up dinner and head to Mayflower Beach, famous for its stunning sunsets. After walking for just a bit on the sand, Elizabeth spotted a beautiful beach picnic set-up, complete with candles, flowers, and perfectly positioned to admire the sunset. Upon seeing it, Elizabeth turned to Kevin and said, “I bet someone is going to get engaged here tonight!” to which Kevin responded, “What if I told you that this was for us?” Surrounded by the pinks and oranges of a perfect Cape Cod sunset, Kevin asked Elizabeth to marry him — which was the easiest, most immediate, “Yes!” It was a perfect moment, and is now their most precious Cape Cod memory.
