Ayesha was a girl sitting in her college dorm room, stressing about freshman year classes with tears streaming down her face. Kevin was a boy walking down the hallway when he sees this girl. Instead of walking past, he decides to talk to her and watch Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets with her for the nth time. That same night, Ayesha asks Kevin to attend a Diwali celebration with her and her friends, and every night after, he stops by her room to talk. This was the start of Kevin and Ayesha's friendship.

Sophomore year of college, and Ayesha is struggling with her foundational physics class (sorry Dad). Having aced the class one semester prior, Kevin offers to tutor Ayesha so she can pass and continue pursuing her pre-med dreams. They spend hours on problem sets, meticulously working towards the solutions. As Ayesha starts grasping the concepts, she realizes that, like the cars in her problem sets, her relationship with Kevin is accelerating at a constant rate. Tutoring sessions become deep 1-on-1 conversations that carry on into the night, and gradually a friendship turns into something more. It becomes apparent that Kevin’s intentions are romantic when he serenades Ayesha with “Love Story” one night in an empty lecture hall, and finally, Ayesha cannot ignore her reciprocal feelings. Two years after the start of their friendship, they decide to start dating.

College graduation time, and with it, uncertainty. Kevin has been accepted to a PhD program in Michigan and Ayesha to a research job in Boston. 800 miles is now between them and both feel daunted by the thought of a long-distance relationship… but to stay with each other, they will wait it out for as long as needed. For two years, they keep in constant contact through Skype calls, care packages, and intermittent visits. Kevin drives 9 hours to surprise Ayesha after a rough week of work. Ayesha flies to Michigan to support Kevin after his apartment fire. With each day apart, their bond strengthens but they long to be in the same location. Luckily, it is only a matter of time before fate steps in to reunite them.

Success! Ayesha has been accepted to a medical school in Michigan, and with that, she and Kevin can finally move in together. One week before the move, Ayesha and Kevin are in the basement of 77 Barn packing the last suitcases for the drive. Ayesha is in a moving frenzy, not realizing that the man next to her is slowly building up to... She turns around to face him and finds him down on one knee. Without so much as a tremble in his voice, he says, "Doctor, will you marry me?" And without missing a beat, Ayesha replies, "Yes." Kevin proposed to Ayesha on July 2, 2016. It has taken some time to get to this point because, well, we had a couple hoops to jump through- graduate school for Kevin, medical school for Ayesha, and a COVID-19 pandemic to disrupt our originally planned wedding date of 5/17/2020. However, we are excited to celebrate the next step of our lives together with you all, coronavirus-free! See you in Massachusetts!
