18 years ago, Kevin and I met at Universal Studios. 100 times a day, we helped E.T. find his way home to the Green Planet...In other words, Steven Spielberg introduced us. Over the next 15 years, we periodically met up, neither one of us quite sure as to whether it was a date or just hanging out. Then one day, Kevin posted on Facebook that he was looking for a travel partner for a trip to Rome. I had always dreamed of venturing off to Paris, so I informed him that if he could throw in Paris, I would go with him. 6 Months passed and before we knew it, we were meeting up in JFK airport to cross the Atlantic together. It was the best trip of my life- not because we were in romantic European cities, but because my adventure partner was an incredible man. After our trip, we had to return to our "real" lives- I in Florida and Kevin in Maryland. For a year and a half, we traveled back and forth and made a long-distance relationship work. Finally, in 2017, I left Florida to be with my soulmate. At that time, Kevin adopted our furbaby, Beauregarde and we've been a happy family ever since. In June of 2018, Kevin took me to Gray Ghost Vineyard; a beautiful vineyard named after my ancestor, Col. John Singleton Mosby of the Civil War. I had always wanted to go, and Kevin surprised me with a tour, a tour that began in the gazebo. We wandered up to the gazebo, but there was no tour guide. Instead, Kevin dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him. After I remembered how to formulate words, I said "Yes!" But the surprises weren't over. After a few private and intimate moments, he pointed to a rooftop. Both of our parents and all of siblings were there to witness our precious moment. I could not be more thankful. Let's do this thing.
