We’re getting married!

Kevin and I met in July 2018 at Camp Bold Eagle, a summer camp in Michigan for kids with bleeding disorders. Kevin had attended camp since he was 11, and was there as a staff member. I was a medical student there as a counselor on elective. As the time to go to camp approached, I was increasingly nervous as I did not know what I was getting myself into. However, one of the first people I met upon arriving was Kevin. I never believed in love at first sight, but everything changed at that moment (cheesy, I know). During the "name game" that first day, I threw a water balloon at Kevin, and he said that's when he knew I noticed him. We also quickly realized during another icebreaker (getting in line by birth date without talking), that we were the same age. Those first 3 days of staff training, it seemed like we were always trying to sit next to each other. He always seemed to be around! I happened to be wearing some rings, one of them on my left ring finger, and never in my life had so many people asked me if I was married (turns out he had his friends doing some detective work). One night during camp trivia, "Brown Eyed Girl" came on, during which I became excited and said I danced with my dad to this song at weddings, to which Kevin so sneakily replied "Did you dance to this song at your wedding?" He finally found out I was definitely single ;). By the third night of staff training, we both knew that this was the start of something very special! Flash forward one month later to the end of camp, and we found ourselves doing a long distance Michigan-Ohio relationship. Kevin eventually moved to Michigan for work, but shortly after that, it was time for me to match into residency. Cleveland seemed to be an amazing fit for us, and that is where I moved! It took Kevin almost another year to make it back to Ohio, but he did! The rest is history! Ps this sorry would not be complete without mentioning our big orange cat Raja, who is the true love of our lives!
