Kevin and Alex met in the Spring of 2016 in Denver, Colorado. They met the old fashioned way: the dating website Okcupid. Alex was staunchly against messaging men first, but made an exception when she discovered that she and Kevin both loved the same TV show, How I Met Your Mother. After chatting online for a week or so, they went on their first date, and the rest is history. Just Kidding! Kevin and Alex dated casually for about a year, but in April 2017, Alex moved home to Michigan to complete her paralegal certificate. Alex and Kevin stayed very close friends however, and in June, after Kevin made a visit to Ann Arbor, they decided to try and make a long distance relationship work. As difficult as it was, Alex was able to dedicate her time to her studies and spending time with the other love of her life, her nephew Nolan, and Kevin was able to move home to New Orleans to be closer to his kids. Oddly as it seems, the time they spent apart made their relationship stronger than ever. So strong, in fact, that Kevin realized he knew that Alex was the only woman for him, and in January 2018, Kevin proposed to Alex on top of the Empire State Building. It was, suffice it to say, one of the most romantic moments of their lives. Alex completed her studies in August 2018, and that very same week, moved to New Orleans. Currently residing in the Mid-City neighborhood, Alex and Kevin spend their free time with Kevin's two kids, Lillie and Liam, and planning their June 2019 wedding. They both are happier than they have ever been, and are grateful for the struggles they have faced, without them they would never be where they are today. They are both beyond thrilled to party with their friends and family at their wedding!
