It was August 2012, I was moving to Colorado to attend the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. I drove out to Colorado knowing only my apartment number and my future roommates names. The day before, one of the roommates contacted me and asked if I could switch apartment buildings so his track teammate could move in with them. Not knowing anyone I said it wouldn’t be a problem, so I changed buildings and roommates, and it changed my life. Once I got there and was settled, I was on my front porch when I noticed two girls walk by and I couldn’t take my eyes off the girl with the blonde hair. Later that night I noticed laughter coming from across the hall, I saw an open door and went to see who was in there. When I turned the corner, the girl with the blonde hair was sitting on the floor with a nerf gun. She shot me, and I’ve loved her ever since.
