How we met

4.28.16

Kevin & I officially met at the University of the Incarnate Word in tennis class. Basically, I won the match and Kevin thought to himself, "If any woman can beat me in a sport, she could definitely be the one." With only two weeks before the class ended, Kevin finally had enough scouting reports done that he was able to make the decision to talk to me and introduce himself. It turned out that our two older brothers were starting line up for baseball at UIW! It’s as if we were already connected, but we had no idea! After that day we were inseparable! Our first “date” (it felt like one) was at Zoe’s Kitchen off Broadway and the conversation was so effortless. It’s as if Kevin and I had known each other our whole lives. The story is unforgettable that within six months we were granted the opportunity from the Lord with one of the greatest blessings that life can give you...a baby boy. Our son, Roy, was born and we knew that our lives had changed for the better. The story gets even crazier because Roy ended up being born on what would have been Kevin’s dad’s 55th birthday. In our eyes, it was only destiny that our little boy carry on Roy’s legacy. From that point on it has been our sole purpose to do everything in our power to teach Roy the importance of FAITH, FAMILY & LOVE. Being parents for almost 3 years has taught us a great lesson, that working together as a team & most of all never giving up on each other. We have truly been blessed with everything in our lives up until this point & we are so excited to celebrate our marriage with our family & friends <3

The Proposal

12.28.17

On the night of my 25th birthday, Kevin took me down by the river at the Pearl where he came up with a make believe story to lure me. He explained to me that he saw a documentary on the History Channel about the War of the Alamo and how the Indians used to hide their treasures deep in the river. He later explained that old myth states that on a dark night on 12/28 that the jewels will appear on a full moon (of course I believed him because I’m gullible to my core). When I turned away to see if there were any treasures in the river, that's when he dropped down on one knee. I screamed with joy and shouted "YES," and we were engaged! We ended up having a celebratory dinner with friends and family at Jazz Tex at the Pearl and celebrated the night away! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you at the wedding!
